Small Engine Repair

Projects

  • Snowmobile Rebuild

This project was doing a top end rebuild on a 1997 Polaris RMK 700. To achieve this, we removed the engine, honed the cylinders, replaced all gaskets, replaced the pistons, replaced the wrist pin ( the Bearing between the piston an the rod), and fully rebuilt the carburetors.

  • Customer Repair

This four wheeler was our first paid engine repair job. It came to us through a craigslist ad that we put up. It was an older gentleman who had owned it for years. He reached out to us saying that it was running rough. We spent about an hour diagnosing it, to figure out it was a crack in the intake manifold. We replaced the intake manifold and rebuilt/cleaned the carburetor. A year later he reached out saying it still ran perfectly.

  • Stand-Up Jet Ski Project

We bought this jet ski with the goal of fixing it and reselling it. After some diagnosis we learned it was the magneto key. The magneto key is what allows the magneto to spin in sync with the crank shaft. Spinning with the crank shaft creates the electrical power for the spark plugs. To achieve this we pulled the engine, giving us the space to removed the magneto. With the magneto removed, we simply replaced the rectangular key that unified it with the crank shaft. The jet ski ran perfectly afterwards and was sold.
